Steven Universe-Wrath of the Gem Gods-Chapter 8

                                            The First Warning

The day has already turned night. The sky in Beach City is clear. The stars are shining and the moon is bright. The waves pushes in and out slowly and the ocean waters reflect the sky. The Crystal Gems are inside their house. Steven watches out of the thinking about Moonstone.

Steven: (sighs)
Pearl: I feel really bad about this. We made her lose the God Gemstones.
Amethyst: We? Peridot is the one who stole them! Grrr! That clod!
Garnet: I cannot believe this. If only we had found her in the Strawberry Fields before we discover the ruins.
Pearl: Garnet, we can't just stay here doing nothing. Are we going to do something about Peridot?

Garnet didn't respond back. She stood quiet.

Steven: (sighs) This is all my fault.
Amethyst: Your fault? Steven, Peridot stole the gemstones.
Steven: I know, but it was my idea to bring you guys with Moonstone, and Peridot followed you three. (slams the wall) I should've not visited Moonstone in the first place.

Steven begins to sniffle in tears. The Gems are concern for Steven. Pearl sits next to him.

Pearl: Look, Steven, don't blame yourself for what just happened. We all didn't expect Peridot, even Moonstone.
Steven: (sniffles) But...Moonstone...I wanted her to experience friendship. She's all by herself with those gemstones since before the war started. I've talked to her, Pearl. She believes that her duty could be a curse. I bet that she didn't even want to guard the gems at all. (sniffles)
Garnet: It's not a curse. She was destined to guard them. Our ancestors gave her the role, Steven. 
Steven: ......She did mention that too. But, she also has a wish. To have someone to cherish with, share feelings with, have fun with, and...

Steven turns around and faces at the window.

Steven: And never feel alone...

The Gems looked at each other with their sad faces.

Steven: She's just confused...that's all. I guess I can't help her anymore...since she now hates me.
Pearl: (pats him) Steven, she doesn't hate you. She...actually hates us, Me, Garnet, and Amethyst. (tilts her head down) 

Steven looks at Pearl with her sad expression showing. He tries to lighten her up.

Steven: And don't forget Peridot.
Amethyst: You mean, totally! She's going to destroy her easily!
Garnet: (giggles)
Pearl: (rises her head) Moonstone...vs Peridot? (chuckles) Peridot doesn't have a chance.
Steven: Yeah, Moonstone is amazingly awesome. I wish she was on our side.
Amethyst: Oh yeah! We would be unbeatable if she was a member! She can replace Garnet as leader!
Garnet: Don't push it.

Th Gems are laughing with each other. Their enjoyment soothes Steven and themselves. 

Garnet: We're going to help Moonstone. I don't care if she will try to stop us, we are all Gems that inhabit the Earth. We must look out for each other.
Pearl: Wonderful, Garnet.
Amethyst: I'm helping her too! Hehehe, she complimented my hairstyle.
Steven: Yeah! Lets help our friend!

Then, Steven hears rocks hitting on the window. He looks out and spots Peridot. Peridot was trying to get their attention by tossing rocks at their house. She is eager to meet them.

Steven: (shocked) It's Peridot!
Crystal Gems: (shocked) WHAT!?

The Gems quickly head outside. Their rush startles Peridot and she gets farther away from them. The Gems summoned their weapons.

Pearl: (anger) Peridot!
Peridot: Sheesh! You guys startled me! 
Steven: (anger) Where's Moonstone!?
Garnet: More importantly, where's the gemstones you stole!

Peridot brings out the God Gemstones. She holds them with her hands. She shows them off.

Peridot: You mean these? Hehehe!
Steven: The gemstones!
Amethyst: Does anyone notice that Peridot is wearing a cowboy boot?

Then, the distance from the beach house, Greg, Steven's dad, arrives. He was going to see Steven and borrow an extra blanket, until, he sees the Gems confronting with Peridot. He was shocked and hides behind a boulder.

Greg: What? What are they doing? Steven...

Greg spies on the commotion. 

Pearl: Hand those over, Peridot!
Peridot: No way! These are mine now! I get to do whatever I want with them, like, setting them free into your town! (laughs) These Gems will wreck havoc on this cruddy planet! (laughs)
Steven: Grrr!
Amethyst: Too bad, Peridot. You don't know how to bring them out.

Peridot stops laughing. She begins to have nervous sweats.

Peridot: (nervous) Releasing them?
Pearl: That's right! Hahaha! You don't how to summon forth the Gem Gods!
Peridot: (nervous) What? I- I... yes I do! (blushes) Stop toying with me! You know I will do it!

Greg heard Peridot's attempt.

Greg: Bringing havoc!? Is she insane!? (shaking) I hope the Gems are right about what they said.

Peridot holds Dialga's gemstone. She leaves the other right behind her.

Peridot: Don't make me! Do what I say!
Garnet: Hmph. I'll let you do your first try. After that, we're just going to take those back!
Peridot: (anger) Shut up! Shut up, shut up, shut up! I will not lose to you clods again!

She begins to shake the gem vigorously.

Peridot: (shaking the gem) Come on! Show them my wrath you stupid thing!

The gemstone didn't respond.

Garnet: Lets end this!
Steven: For Moonstone!
Peridot: (shaking the gem) Come on! Wooorrrk! Gagh! (glows her gem).

When Peridot glows her gemstone, the God Gemstone begins to glow as well. After five seconds of the effect, an earthquake appeared. The shake trembles the Gems, Greg, and most of Beach City. During the shake, a flash engulfed the entire world for a second. During that second, everything was black and white. Five minutes instantly passed from that second. When everything was done, Peridot was astonished and drops the gem. The God Gemstone stops glowing.

Peridot: (panting) What...what was that!?
Amethyst: (shocked) Whoa...
Pearl: (frightened) The gem...responded...
Steven: (frightened) Uh...uh...
Garnet: (sweats)

Greg experienced the event as well.

Greg: (frightened) What in the world!? What just happened!? The earthquake...the flash...it happened too fast! What is she holding!?

Peridot: (picks the gems up) Whoa... it was listening...what did I do?
Crystal Gems: (frightened)

Peridot smiles diabolically. She faces at the frightened Crystal Gems and laughs.

Peridot: (laughs) That was a warning, clods! 
Garnet: Stop, Peridot! You didn't see that coming either! Admit it! You're afraid too!
Peridot: (blushes) Me? No I wasn't. I was just shocked with excitement. 

She picks up the gemstones. She gets closer to the frightened Gems. Pearl, Amethyst, and Steven are hugging Garnet for protection.

Peridot: So...you're all finally afraid of me.
Pearl: (unease) Peridot, you should leave those alone. You have no idea what the Gem Gods are capable of.
Peridot: I don't care! As long as these guys cause destruction on this planet, it'll be worth it. This planet must cleanse itself from humans and clods like you!
Steven: That's not right! Please, Peridot! Give those back to Moonstone!
Peridot: I'll decide what to do with these, Steevveenn.
Steven: Grrr!

The Gems became furious instead of being frightened. They can't harm Peridot. Garnet gives in for the sake of the planet.

Garnet: (sigh) What do you want us to do?
Amethyst and Pearl: (shocked) What!?
Garnet: (faces at the Gems) We cannot allow the Gem Gods to be resurrected. You heard Moonstone, they are the most powerful Gems. We don't stand a chance if they are awakened. It's best if we do what she says. 

Amethyst, Pearl, and Steven faces at each other with anxiety. Peridot is becoming more imperious and arrogant.

Peridot: Well. There are two things you must do for me.
Garnet: And what are they?
Peridot: Hehehe, you will let me rebuild the warp pad that leads to the Homeworld and you all must be my prisoners!

The Crystal Gems gasped. Even Greg gasped. 

Pearl: (nervous) Garnet... we can't... we just can't!
Amethyst: Garnet?
Garnet: ........
Steven: (in his mind) *Moonstone, I really wish you were here with us. I need you.*
Peridot: Well? Or...(brings the gemstones closer to her gemstone)

The extortion is too overwhelming for Garnet and the Gems. Garnet reaches her decision.

Garnet: And if we do this... you won't release them onto this planet, right?
Peridot: Of course. (smiles diabolically) 
Garnet: ......... (faces down) Fine...

Her team mates gasped in fear. Steven and Pearl has their tears flowing.

Pearl: (weeping) Garnet...
Amethyst: (anger) GRRR!!
Steven: Noo...
Garnet: (faces down) I'm sorry... we're doing this for Earth. Moonstone would rather have the God Gemstones taken instead of letting the Deities free.
Peridot: HAHAH! Then it's settled! Off to the Galaxy Warp!

She forces them to lead her to their warp pad. Greg watches the Gems and his son being held captive by Peridot. He begins to panic.

Greg: (panicking) Oh my! What should I do!? I can't let that stranger take my son away! Ah-ah! (stops) Wait! Garnet mentioned Moonstone! Moonstone is a Gem, right? If they know who he or she is, she must be around here somewhere! I've gotta find her quick!

Greg runs off to Beach City to find Moonstone, even though he hasn't met her yet. Inside the Crystal Gem's home, the Gems lead Peridot to their warp pad.

Peridot: (looks around) This house is horrible, because you guys live here.
Steven: Aw man...

The Gems, Steven, and Peridot warped themselves. Few seconds later, they arrived in the Galaxy Warp. 

Peridot: (faces at Amethyst) Give me your weapon!
Amethyst: Why?

Peridot threatens her by bringing forth the gemstones near her gemstone on her head.

Amethyst: Fine, fine, blackmail. (summons her weapon)

Peridot, with Amethyst's weapon, she ties up the Crystal Gems really tight. 

Peridot: There! Just in case you clods have something up your sleeves. Now, let me rebuild this. Do anything and I will bring the Gem Gods out on you!
Garnet: (tied) Grrr!
Pearl: (weeping) It's over...sorry, Rose...(sniffles)
Amethyst: Man...this really sucks...

Steven looks up and sees the moon. He puts faith into Moonstone.

Steven: Moonstone...help us, please... we're sorry...
